Going traditional or contemporary framed or frameless style cabinets are an important choice.

Deciding on framed or frameless style cabinets will be an important and vital step in figuring out what your new cabinets are going to look like after they are installed. Being that the door and drawer fronts will be the first thing someone sees when they look at your kitchen this is a very important factor in the overall look of your new kitchen remodel.

Framed style cabinet’s gives you a more traditional look with a full frame across the face that will show between the closed doors. From a structural standpoint this choice is also important, as this style will help strengthen wide cabinet boxes with center rails. The hinges may or may not be visible when looking at the cabinets from the outside. To further accentuate the look, the door faces, may be ornamented with raised or recessed panels or a framed glass panel.

Frameless, or European, style cabinets are built without a face frame which is what gives it the frameless look. This style gives you a cleaner more contemporary look in comparison to the framed style. The hinges are typically hidden inside the cabinet box to allow the doors to cover the entire face of the box without anything distracting from the look.

This choice will go a long way towards how the kitchen will look when the remodeling project is complete and should be given careful thought and consideration.
